He lost his home. He lost his family. And he lost his leg.

His story has a beginning, a middle, but no end. We'd like YOU to write the end.

The beginning of the story was that Ricky and two brothers were found by a lady and her sons. And the three young cats, unaltered, were running and playing. Unfortunately, they ran across the road when a fast-moving car was zipping through. One of Ricky's brothers was fine--he hadn't started across the road yet. One of Ricky's brothers died in the collision. Ricky lost his leg.

Even on three legs, Ricky made life worth living. Nothing stopped him. He jumped and ran and played with the other cats in the household. And then came Hurricane Ike.

Ricky's family left, running in front of the hurricane. Ricky's mom stayed behind to take care of the dogs and cats. But something really awful happened. She got really sick, too sick to take care of the animals. Without food and fresh water, the animals were desperate, and the cats found a way out through the pleating at the sides of a room air conditioner.

All of them had to fend for themselves, including Ricky. Two days after the hurricane, the road was cleared, and the family came back to find Ricky's mom in a coma. She was rushed to a hospital, but the animals were left behind. Finally, some of Ricky's mom's family came to close up the house, and they gathered up all the animals into carriers and crates. A neighbor stopped them and asked what was going on. When he found out the family was taking the cats to a shelter to be euthanized, he brought them home.

Ricky loves his foster mom and dad. He gets around great on his three legs. All the other cats from his former household have been adopted into new furever homes, but Ricky is left behind. Again.

Ricky wants nothing more than to be loved and cherished. He will sit on your lap for hours, and he just drools and drips "happy glands." He loves to play, especially with rattley mice and crunchy toys. He loves Greenies SO MUCH!

He's enjoying his life. He sits on his foster mom and dad's laps, but he longs to be in a home of his own again, where he can be the "top cat." He wants so much to curl up on the sofa again, and snooze on the bed. He wants to have all the attention and love and cuddling he can stand.

He wants his dinner bowl to be as full as his heart.

Can you make Ricky's dreams come true? He's not the cute cuddly kitten that so many people look for. He's a bit prickly with other cats when he first meets them. But he is so loving and playful and so full of cuddles and kisses that he makes everything worthwhile.

If you'd like to meet this gentleman, go to his webpage at www.happycatadoptions.org and under his photo, click the adoptions link, and fill out the online adoption application. Someone will contact you by email or phone within a few days.

If you want more details about Ricky, email his foster dad at haroldw1@sbcglobal.net.

He's playful and loving, but as a result of his accident, is wary of change and complains when you change his surroundings.

He loves people, loves to be around you, will call out to you to come to him, and loves, loves, loves sweet cuddles and ear scritchies.

He likes to play too, despite his lack of a leg.

Ricky came to us when his mommy died after Hurricane Ike, leaving her kitty family behind. Ricky grieved for her--he was her favorite, and at first, his fur matted up badly and he just lay in his bed, missing her. But after a few days of care and love, he blossomed again, and now he's ready for a new family to love and care for him.

Is it yours?

Come meet this loving boy. He'll run your household, keep you company, warm your bed, and make you laugh.

Go to our website, www.HappyCatAdoptions.org and fill out an online application to come and visit with him.

Ricky will make it worth your while.
